FRESNO – As part of efforts to better understand issues of importance to Fresno, Senator Dave Cogdill (RModesto) will tour the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m. The UCSF Fresno Center is located at 155 N. Fresno Street on the Community Regional Medical Center campus in downtown Fresno.
The senator also will meet privately with UCSF Fresno Associate Dean Joan Voris to learn more about UCSF Fresno’s contributions to training medical professionals and providing much needed health care services to Valley residents.
Cogdill was elected as the Representative of the 14th District to the California State Senate in November 2006 after having served as a member of the California State Assembly for six years. The 14th District is comprised of all or portions of the following counties: Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.
As an Assemblymember, Cogdill demonstrated his commitment to issues affecting the Valley and foothill communities, including economic development, strengthening public safety, controlling taxes, improving air quality, and expanding water supply and storage opportunities. He also has collaborated with local leaders on many issues concerning rural residents, such as access to health care and quality education.
