FRESNO - Alex Sherriffs, MD, and Joan Rubenstein, MD, faculty members at UCSF Fresno, were recently honored with the 2008 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
Sherriffs and Rubenstein were recognized for their front-line contributions to the education of medical students and residents at UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program.
The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators is dedicated to creating an environment that enhances the status of teachers of medical students at UCSF, promotes and rewards teaching excellence, fosters curricular innovation, and encourages scholarship in medical education.
The Excellence in Teaching Awards program was established in 2005 as peer-nominated awards for UCSF and UCSF Fresno teaching faculty.
