FRESNO – Heart disease is the leading cause of death in California and the San Joaquin Valley has some of the highest rates of heart disease in the state. UCSF Fresno’s Department of Internal Medicine and Community Medical Centers will present the 2016 11th Annual “Cardiology in the Valley Symposium,” from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research, located at 155 N. Fresno Street.
The symposium is a continuing education program for cardiologists, hospitalists, family and internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and allied healthcare professionals. About 100 participants from Central California are expected to participate and learn from the best practices that will be shared at the event.
New therapies and treatments, noninvasive testing, the relationship between high blood pressure and heart health and pulmonary hypertension will be addressed.
