Hobbies, fun facts and interests
My hobbies are varied? I’ve become a bit of a gym rat, and spend most of my spare time at Crossfit, improving my gymnastics and strengthening my Olympic lifts. While I try to watch my nutrition (it’s so important for those gainz!) I also love baking. Cakes/cupcakes have to be my specialty, but lately I’ve also been working on perfecting French macarons. On rest days, I’m on any hike that gains tons of elevation for a killer view. My reading/show preference is pretty nerdy; I’m a big fan of epic fantasy novels and have more recently been reading some steampunk adventures as well. Having spent so much time in Oregon, I love a good IPA.
My professional interests are for palliative care and critical care.
Why Fresno?
Fresno is just one of those programs you hear about everywhere. Even before interviewing, I knew that they (we!) have a tremendous reputation as an awesome program who treats their residents well while providing excellent care to a patient population who really needs it. This place is an incredible bastion of everything that makes EM so rewarding and fun!
Residents never lack for volume/procedures/pathology (one of the best benefits of not having too many other trainees in-house, and being the critical access hospital of the entire valley!). Also, department leadership recognizes that wellness isn’t about lip service and yoga, it is about implementing actual change to make our lives better day in and day out.
I’m so proud to call this place my home, and I know that this training will be world-class and unlike any other.
