Hobbies, fun facts and interests
Prior to medical school I spent 10 years working as a lifeguard for the California State parks in my hometown of Santa Cruz. I rowed for UC Berkeley during the undergraduate years and took a few years after college to travel, build cabinetry, and teach woodshop to middle schoolers.
These days, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible with my wife, Gianna, and our black labrador retriever. If I can get out running, cycling, backpacking, surfing, skiing, or climbing, I’m having a great day. I am a terrible but aspiring flyfishman. Nothing gets me up in the morning like a good cup of coffee and the smell of fresh cut wood.
Why Fresno?
The best EM educators in the business, a priority on medical education, and a wonderfully team-oriented program that breeds humble and highly competent EM docs. Equally important is Fresno’s proximity to the Sierra Nevada mountains and good waves on the California coast.
