Ultrasound Machines:
- 5 Sonosite X-Porte Machines
(curvilinear, linear, and phased array probes) - 3 BK Medical 3500 Machines
(curvilinear, linear, phased array, and endocavitary probes) - 1 Sonosite S-ICU procedural machine
(small footprint linear probe) - 1 Butterfly IQ handheld probe for rotating residents
Image Recorder:
The Emergency Department at CRMC utilizes Sonosite Synchronicity, a web-based system for storing images, overseeing quality assurance, education, research, billing, and credentialing. Study interpretations are completed in Synchronicity and subsequently submitted for quality assurance. Ultrasound exams used for clinical decision-making can be further transmitted to PACS and Epic EMR by credentialed emergency physicians. A portion of the exams submitted for QA are reviewed during weekly QA sessions for educational purposes, while the remainder are reviewed by ultrasound faculty on an ongoing basis.
Clinical Skills and Simulation Center:
The state of the art simulation center at UCSF-Fresno has many tools to aid in the ultrasound educational of residents and fellows including:
- Vimedix ultrasound simulation trainer
- 3 Butterfly IQ handheld probes
- Blue Phantom transvaginal pelvic ultrasound trainer
- Ultrasound trainers for common emergency procedures (peripheral venous access, central venous access, arterial line, thoracentesis, paracentesis, pericardiocentesis, shoulder and knee arthrocentesis)
